Caught on Cam: Masked Robber Shoots Deli Employees

A trigger-happy gunman was caught on surveillance video shooting deli workers in two separate robberies.

Police say the suspect first targeted a deli on the 4900 block of Rosehill Street shortly before 1 p.m. Saturday. Surveillance video shows the masked gunman entering the store and pointing his weapon at a 63-year-old clerk behind the counter. The gunman demanded money and then fired one shot striking the clerk in the right hip. He then went behind the counter, stepped over the victim and grabbed an unknown amount of money and lottery tickets before fleeing on foot.

The clerk was taken to Einstein Hospital where he is currently in stable condition.

Investigators believe the same gunman targeted a mini market on the 5000 block of Gransback Street Sunday. Surveillance video captured the suspect entering the store at 9:23 p.m. Police say he once again pointed his gun at employees and demanded money. He then fired one shot and struck a 56-year-old employee in the left leg. He then demanded money from the register and took an unknown amount of cash before fleeing the scene. The victim was taken to Temple University Hospital where he was treated for his injuries.

If you see the suspect do not approach him. Instead call 911 immediately.
