Philly Officer Injured While Chasing Robbery Suspect: Police

A Philadelphia Police officer was injured during a chase following an armed robbery, according to investigators.

Officials say an armed suspect robbed Concetta’s Pizza shop on the 4600 block of Princeton Avenue at 8:27 p.m. Sunday. The man allegedly took the cash register and fled the scene. Several 24th District officers spotted him and chased after him on foot and apprehended him, police said.

One of the pursuing officers suffered an ankle injury during the chase. The officer was taken to the hospital and is expected to be released soon.

Police have not yet identified the suspect or revealed the specific charges against him.
