An older driver became confused Friday evening and wound up smashing her sport utility vehicle into the front of a Northeast Philadelphia pharmacy.
Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Joe Sullivan captured the scene of the red SUV smashed into Delaire Pharmacy along State Road in the city’s Torresdale section around 5:30 p.m.
Sullivan said the unidentified driver was in the SUV with her adult son when she became confused, drove up onto the curb and into the front of the pharmacy. The crash sent glass and metal crashing down before the vehicle finally stopped after gong halfway inside the closed store.
No one was inside the store at the time and neither person in the car was hurt, said Sullivan.
