Person Struck, Killed by SEPTA Train

A person was killed Monday night after being struck by a SEPTA train.

It happened shortly before 11:30 p.m. in the East Falls section of Philadelphia.

Officials say the victim was hit by an oncoming SEPTA R-6 train near the intersection of Calumet and Cresson Street while walking on the tracks.

The identity of the victim has not been released.

Authorities continue to investigate the accident.

The Manayunk/Norristown line is back on schedule this morning after being closed down.
