Pennsylvania State Trooper Faces Trial in Shocking, Beating of Skateboarder

A suspended Pennsylvania state trooper is headed to trial on charges he beat a skateboarder who says he was attacked after making an obscene hand gesture.

Chris Siennick says he made an obscene gesture in May 2015 in Harrisburg after Trooper Ryan Luckenbaugh and another trooper called him a slur. He says he was hit with a baton, zapped with a stun gun, punched and kicked.

Luckenbaugh is charged with official oppression, simple assault and harassment.

All counts against the 37-year-old Mechanicsburg man were bound for court following a Monday preliminary hearing.

Prosecutors say a dash camera recording of the incident shows inconsistencies in Luckenbaugh's police report.

Luckenbaugh's attorney, Ed Spreha, says the video doesn't tell the whole story.

Siennick has filed a federal civil lawsuit naming both troopers.
