Good Samaritan Survives After Jumping Off Bridge to Avoid Being Struck by Car

Authorities say a man trying to help other drivers who had just been in a wreck at the Georgia-South Carolina line is recovering after he jumped from a bridge to avoid being hit.

Local media outlets report that a family from Pikeville, Kentucky, was driving on Interstate 95 where it crosses the Savannah River when another car pushed them into a guard rail.

Authorities say a good Samaritan driving from Pennsylvania pulled over to help direct traffic. Officials say one car wouldn't' slow down, and the man who was trying to help jumped from the bridge to avoid getting it.

Authorities said his injuries didn't appear to be critical, and the Kentucky family had minor injuries.
