Pennsylvania Children Witness Parent's In-Home Murder, Suicide

State police say four of a couple's six children witnessed "various aspects" of a murder-suicide in which their father shot their mother before killing himself in their northwestern Pennsylvania home.

Troopers from the Girard barracks say the incident occurred in the Cranesville home of 41-year-old Robert Senyo II and 36-year-old Pamela Buren. Cranesville is about 25 miles (40.2 kilometers) southwest of Erie.

Police say the shootings happened just after 8:30 p.m. Thursday after an argument.

Police say in a news release that the couple had been together for 22 years and shared six children. Four of the children, between the ages of 7 and 14, "were in the residence during this incident and witnesses various aspects."

Erie County child welfare workers were contacted and the children are now in the care of relatives.
