Pennsylvania Cattle Raiser Cited For 20th Time This Year

An eastern Pennsylvania woman with a small cattle-raising operation was cited for the 20th time this year for allowing her cows to wander away from her property and into the street.

The Morning Call reports Christine Hess of Lower Saucon Township was cited once again Tuesday night for failure to keep two calves out of traffic.

Hess says she knows the two young cows occasionally stray from her property, but they usually just play and don't go near the road.

The issue is Hess' fence, which she says has been without an electric current for two months.

Hess says she is trying to sell her 80-acre farm and doesn't want to spend thousands of dollars to repair the fence with the next owner likely to bulldoze it.
