NJ Football Players Suspended Over “Inappropriate” Video

A South Jersey high school suspended several members of its football team after they posted a video online that denigrated a rival team.

The punishment means the Paulsboro team will be short-handed when they play West Deptford on Friday night.

More than 10 players who had some type of involvement with the video posted earlier this week were suspended on Wednesday. School officials say the video -- which has been removed from the site -- showed students cursing and doing “totally inappropriate” things.

Since the students won't be allowed to return to school until Monday, district policy bars them from taking part in any extracurricular activities until then.

School officials, who apologized to the rival school for the students' actions, say they hope the disciplined players learn a lesson in sportsmanship.
