Evacuations Ordered After Partial Collapse of Rowhome in Ogontz

Emergency demolition will be done after an abandoned home partially collapsed in a Philadelphia neighborhood Sunday.

The incident happened at about 8:30 a.m. at a home in the 6200 block of Woodstock Street in the city’s Ogontz neighborhood.

NBC10 was at the scene where it showed the top portion of an abandoned rowhome that collapsed onto a porch.

As a result, neighbors on both sides of the collapsed property were evacuated. The Red Cross is making arrangements for temporary shelter for those displaced residents.

Officials with the city’s Licenses and Inspections Department were at the scene shortly after the collapse. Emergency demolition is expected to be performed on the property Sunday.

There were no injuries.
