Caught on Cam: Condo Garage Robberies

Same man could be behind string of recent robberies, cops say

Philadelphia Police say the same man is behind at least three robberies inside a South Philadelphia condo parking garage over the past few months.

In two cases the suspect pushed the victim back into their car, in another incident a knife was used, police said.

The robberies happened in the Marine Club Condominiums elevated parking garage located at 1100 S Broad Street, according to police.

Cops say the first incident happened on Sept. 26 at 9 p.m. when the suspect pushed a woman back into her car and demanded money. The woman was able to fight off the alleged attacker and he made off with nothing, police said.

Police say that on Dec. 11 around 11 p.m. a man approached a person behind with knife and demanded money. The alleged attacker made off with $60 cash and the victim’s laptop, cops said.

And just this past Thursday night at 7 police say the man waited in the garage before approaching a woman as she was leaving her car. He pushed her back inside before making off with $100, cops said.

In each case the alleged robber fled on foot, cops said.

The suspect, who was caught on surveillance video, is described as dark complexioned black male between 40 to 50 years old. In the September attack he was clean shaven but in the most recent incident he had a salt and pepper beard, cops said.

He was also wearing a gray hoodie and camouflage coat in the most recent robbery, according to investigators.
