A man and a woman are in custody after police say their twin daughters suffered multiple injuries.
On March 10, police responded to the AtlantiCare Regional Hospital. When they arrived, investigators say medical staff informed them of two twin 11-week-old girls who were just brought in. Police say both girls were suffering from severe, unexplained injuries.
Investigators say one baby suffered life threatening injuries, including a traumatic head injury, fractured arm as well as multiple bruises and abrasions. The girl was flown from AtlantiCare Regional to Cooper Hospital.
The other baby suffered moderate injuries, including multiple bruises, abrasions and an unspecified neck injury, according to police. She was transported to Cooper Hospital by ambulance.
Police identified the parents of the twin girls as Adriana Thomas, 23, of Egg harbor and Lamar Lisbon, 28, formerly of Brigantine. Investigators say the couple did not provide information on their daughters’ injuries when they were interviewed.
After further investigation from police, the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office and the New Jersey Division of Youth and Family Services and various medical facilities, both Thomas and Lisbon were arrested.
Both are charged with endangering the welfare of a child and child neglect. Thomas and Lisbon are currently lodged at the Atlantic County Justice Facility in Mays Landing on $75,000 and $150,000 cash bail.
No word yet on the condition of the two girls though police say they are both improving.
