Parents of Malnourished Girls Plead Guilty to Endangerment

Two suburban Philadelphia parents have pleaded guilty to endangering their 5- and 7-year-old daughters, who were found malnourished in a filthy home last fall.

Carole and Vincent McDonald of Upper Chichester Township pleaded guilty Wednesday in Delaware County Court to two counts each of child endangerment and one count each of conspiracy, according to the Delaware County District Attorney's Office. All the charges are felonies.

Sentencing is set for May 22.

County caseworkers opened an investigation in August after reports the 7-year-old girl was found dirty and running around alone in the township.

Police said the girls were removed from the home in October after being found hungry and covered in bug bites in a home unfit for human habitation.

The children were placed in foster care. The house was condemned.
