Palin to Give Speech in ‘The Sweetest Place on Earth'

Organizers are expecting more than 1,000 people at a speech by former vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin in Hershey.

Palin is scheduled to appear Friday night at the annual meeting of the Pennsylvania Family Institute, an event that raises funds for the 21-year-old organization.

Institute founder and president Michael Geer says Palin is expected to talk for about a half-hour on opposition to abortion and what he describes as "pro-family themes." He's not saying if the former Alaska governor will be paid.

The Pennsylvania Family Institute unsuccessfully fought the state's introduction of casino gambling, and has been a strong supporter of school choice.

Previous speakers at the group's annual banquets include Oliver North, Zell Miller, James Dobson and William Bennett.
