Pa. Turnpike Widening Project Could Be Back On

A controversial widening project planned for the Pennsylvania Turnpike, which was suspended, could be back on again.

The first part of the project would widen a six-mile stretch west of the Valley Forge interchange to Route 29.

It was suspended last month because of cost concerns and storm water management.

But local officials want the project to proceed, the Turnpike Commission said.

They will now re-evaluate their decision.
