Painkilling Doc Targeted By Feds Loses License

A western Pennsylvania doctor who acknowledges he's being investigated by the federal government for the way he prescribes painkillers has now lost his medical license.

The state's Bureau of Professional and Occupational Affairs announced the temporary suspension Wednesday involving Dr. Glenn Bryan Davis.

But the Johnstown-area doctor says the suspension dates to October and is related to federal raids on his Geistown office and Upper Yoder Township home in May.

Federal authorities don't comment on pending investigations, and search warrants used in the raids remain sealed.

But Davis says the feds take issue with the way he treats pain and how many painkillers he prescribes.

He says, "They may not like the way I practice medicine. But there is no drug crime here."
