Phillies Start Painting the Town Red

The Phillies are getting fans' baseball-loving blood flowing with a week of events.

Saturday is the kickoff for the Paint the Town Red Week, days of pep-rallying activities for the city of Philadelphia.

The week started with a 5k run on Saturday morning.  On Sunday, fans can hang with the Phanatic at Independence Hall.  Along with the team's ball girls, the Phillies' mascot will be appearing at noon to unveil a new baseball display at the Independence Hall visitor's center.

On Monday, the team will be sponsoring a blood drive at Citizen's Bank Park, from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.  Donors will have photo opportunities and receive a special starting rotation print.  Those that wish to contribute need to pre-register here

On Tuesday evening and Wednesday afternoon, the team and alumni players will play two spring-training like games.  The On-Deck series will be full of give-aways and chances to meet players.  Tickets can be purchased here.

The week of Phillies fanaticism will conclude with a fashion show for Phillies Ballgirls.  Ballpark looks will get shown down the runway at Macy's Center City on Thursday, at 5:30 p.m.  Local fashion designers will be showing their vision for the new ballgirl uniform.
