All NJ Counties to Get Federal Aid

N.J. Governor Chris Christie announced that every citizen and small business in his state would be eligible for federal disaster aid in the wake of Hurrican Irene.

Christie accompanied President Barack Obama on a disaster tour of flooded towns around the N.J. on Sunday.  Dropping in on flooded communities including Wayne and Paterson by helicopter, the president told distressed residents that federal help was on the way.

Christie said with the newly approved aid, the Federal Emergency Management Agency will help residents with several types of federal assistance, including temporary housing, repairs and replacement aid, unemployment assistance, and small business disaster loans.

The governor encourages any New Jersey resident that suffered damage during the storm to apply for disaster assistance with the Federal Emergency Management Agency, even those who already have insurance or who are not sure whether they are eligible.
