After A.C. Ring Win, Boxer Brawls With Officer

Philly's "King" Gabriel Rosado was put in shackles Saturday night after brawling with an Atlantic City police officer.

Rosado, 25, fought in the main-event bout on Friday evening at Bally's in Atlantic City, winning a TKO after four rounds.

Following the fight, Rosado was in the Bally Wild West Casino celebrating with his posse.  Around 3:15 a.m., after reports that Rosado's group was acting disorderly, casino security attempted to make the crew of six men leave.

Assisting security was uniformed police officer Franco Sydnor.  The group reportedly yelled at Sydnor, telling him they would assault him before he got a chance to call for backup.  According to police, that’s when Sydnor called for backup.

Rosado then proceeded to swing at the officer, landing a punch that split Sydnor's lip.  Security jumped in to assist the officer, and a skirmish broke out between Rosado's party and security, according to Atlantic City police.  Security attempted to restrain the boxer, who kept trying to press the fight.  A member of Rosado's party grabbed Officer Sydnor's police baton, but the officer was able to get it back.

When backup finally arrived, Gabriel Rosado was put into handcuffs.

Officer Sydnor required stitches to close his lip and additional stitches for a wound on his elbow.

Gabriel Rosado was charged with aggravated assault on police and causing a riot.
