Move Over Harvard! Penn's Wharton School Takes Top Spot on Business School Rankings

The University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School is the top business school in America in U.S. News & World Report's ranking

The University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School climbed to the top of the closely watched U.S. News & World Report ranking of business schools, replacing Harvard in the No. 1 spot. Wharton also surpassed the University of Chicago, which had ranked just above it last year, when it took the No. 3 spot.

Five other Pennsylvania and Philadelphia-area business schools also ranked in the Top 100, according to U.S. News, which takes into account factors like acceptance rate, subjective ranking by other schools' admissions officers and MBA graduates' average salary. Drexel, University of Delaware, Pitt, Penn State and Carnegie Mellon all also received rankings this year. Duquesne and La Salle were included in the report, but did not rank in the Top 100.
