Caught on Cam: Shooting, Robbery in Ogontz

Dramatic surveillance video shows shooting and robbery inside a Chinese food restaurant

Philadelphia Police released graphic surveillance video Thursday of a shooting during a robbery at a Chinese restaurant at 5942 Ogontz Avenue Wednesday night.

The incident happened just before 10 p.m. In the video a man can be seen approaching three people and forcing them back into the store.

Police say he demanded that they empty their pockets. The victims can be seen going through their pockets in the video.

The suspect then is seen shooting a revolver once into the store as one of the victim’s falls down.

Police say that the suspect walks off but then turns around as two of the victims stumble out of the store and the he shoots four or five more times into the restaurant striking another victim. That victim was hospitalized in stable condition police say.

The suspect is described as a thin black male standing about 5-feet-9-inches tall who was wearing a black leather jacket, jeans and a knit ski cap.

Not only are police asking for the public’s help in identifying the shooter but they are also looking for the two victims that fled the scene especially since one of the men appeared to be shot.
