Officer Killed While Riding Bike Laid to Rest Friday

Services for Officer Marc Brady begin at 9 a.m. at Pentecostal Bridegroom Temple.

The Philadelphia Police Department has announced funeral arrangements for an off-duty officer who was struck and killed while riding a bicycle.

A viewing for Officer Marc Brady will be held at 9 a.m. Friday at Pentecostal Bridegroom Temple in Philadelphia, followed by funeral services at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Forrest Hills Cemetery.

Police say 32-year-old Brady was hit at about 11:40 p.m. Sunday in the city's East Mount Airy neighborhood and was pronounced dead at a hospital early Monday. He had been on the force for eight years.

Charges of homicide by vehicle and involuntary manslaughter are planned against the driver accused of striking Brady. Police say the suspect is the boyfriend of a former girlfriend of the officer, and there was "bad blood" between the two.
