A police officer and civilian are in the hospital after a car accident in Levittown. It happened Friday around 4 a.m. on the 400 block of Tyburn Road. Police say a man driving a Mercedes Benz somehow lost control of his vehicle and crossed over three lanes of traffic, striking the police cruiser of 28-year-old Police Officer Matt Killeen head on.
Officer Killeen suffered a broken back, pelvis and bruised lungs. He was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital where he is currently in fair condition after being in critical earlier today. Investigators say he is alert and talking to his family.

The other driver involved in the crash is currently in critical condition in ICU. Police are currently investigating how the man lost control of his vehicle.
