Philadelphia Police arrested one of their own early Saturday morning.
Investigators say that Officer Lee Marrero, 29, got into a car accident on the 900 block of East Passyunk Avenue around 5:46 a.m. while he was off-duty.
Police say that Marrero was impaired at the scene of the accident. He was arrested and charged with driving under the influence.
Marrero is a 5-year veteran with the Philadelphia Police and is assigned to the 22nd District. Police say that he will be assigned to administrative duties at the Differential Response Unit (DPR) pending the outcome of the investigation.
