Officials say a reported abduction in North Philadelphia is unfounded.
A witness told police he was walking on 600 E. Erie Avenue at 8:50 p.m. Sunday behind an unidentified woman. The witness then said he saw a man get out of a black vehicle and strike the woman in the head with a baseball bat. The witness told police the man then dragged the woman into his car and drove eastbound on Erie.
After launching an investigation, officials determined the witness was hallucinating and an abduction did not occur, according to a law enforcement source.
