No ‘Snooki & JWoww' in Point Pleasant Beach

The Jersey Shore spinoff will not be filming in the family resort town

After being shutout from making a temporary home in many New Jersey towns, MTV's "Jersey Shore" spinoff "Snooki & JWoww," faced another loss in an attempt to get a filming permit in an Ocean County borough.

Officials in Point Pleasant Beach denied 495 Productions the right to film Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi and Jenni “JWoww” Farley enjoying the town's nightlife.

"I don't think we need that kind of attention right now or maybe ever," said Mayor Vincent Barella in a phone interview with the Point Pleasant Patch. "We need to focus on being the premier family tourist destination that we are and that won't help."

Earlier this year, the city of Hoboken rejected a proposal by the show's production company to rent a house for the reality stars to live for the duration of filming. The request to film was officially rejected by Mayor Dawn Zimmer.

"Based on protecting public safety and quality of life concerns for Hoboken residents, the City has denied a film permit for a spin-off of the Jersey Shore to be filmed in public locations," Zimmer wrote in a memo to the city council.

495 Productions scouted other sites to take their show, like Morristown, but after more opposition -- which included a petition by locals in the community -- the production company decided to “focus on other areas.”

Snooki and JWoww will start filming their second season on August 9 and continue through October 14.

Snooki's first child is expected to arrive mid-September.
