No Bail Reduction for Woman Charged in Dad's Death

A judge has refused to reduce the $300,000 cash bail set for a southern New Jersey woman accused of killing her father.

Kandice Dixey sought a lower bail during a court hearing Friday, where she was arraigned on murder charges. But the judge agreed with Cumberland County prosecutors who argued the 32-year-old Fairfield resident would be a flight risk if she made bail.

Authorities say the body of 61-year-old Michael Dixey was found this month in a shallow grave. The discovery came several days after relatives had reported him missing.

The day before the body was found, Kandice Dixey and her 24-year-old boyfriend, Norman Kacewich, were arrested in Elkton, Md., on theft charges related to the use of Michael Dixey's credit card.

Kacewich is charged with desecration of human remains.
