Woman Accused of Robbing Man in Wawa Parking Lot

Suspect accused of hitting 69-year-old man with a gun during robbery

A 20-year-old Newark, Del. woman is charged with pistol-whipping and robbing a man more than three times her age in a Wawa parking lot.

Kynesha Daniels, 20, is accused of using a handgun to strike a 69-year-old Newark man in the head before taking items from his car outside the Wawa store on Pulaski Highway in the early hours of July 8, according to a press release from Delaware State Police.

After allegedly robbing the man, Daniels fled on foot, cops said.

The victim was briefly hospitalized for minor injuries, according to police.

An investigation led police to Daniels’ home on the unit block of Raven Turn in Newark. She was arrested and -- unable to post $50,000 secured bond -- was sent to Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution on robbery and firearm charges.
