New Lawyer for Driver in Megabus Wreck

Megabus smashed into a low bridge in upstate New York, killing four passengers in September

The driver of a double-decker Megabus that smashed into a low bridge in upstate New York, killing four passengers, has a new lawyer and his criminal case has been adjourned until next month.

A pretrial hearing for 60-year-old John Tomaszewski of Yardville, N.J., had been scheduled for Monday in Onondaga County Court. He pleaded not guilty last month to criminally negligent homicide charges.

A court official says the case is now on for motions and arguments on July 21.

Tomaszewski's bus failed to clear a railroad bridge after he made a wrong turn off an interstate highway late at night just outside downtown Syracuse in September.
