Shooting Outside New Jersey Bar Leaves 1 Dead, 1 Hurt

An investigation is underway into a shooting outside a Cumberland County, New Jersey bar that left a man dead and another injured early Sunday morning.

Earikeem Lewis, 24, died at Inspira Hospital in Bridgeton after he was shot outside Las Palmas Tequila Bar near the intersection of Washington and Cohansey streets during a large fight, police said.

A second man, Quamere Redding, 23, was injured in the shooting. Both men were rushed by private cars to local hospitals.

Redding was taken to Cooper University Hospital where he was in stable condition, said officials.

Police say the fight started inside Las Palmas and that one of the victims was escorted from the bar minutes before the deadly shooting.

Investigators are questioning witnesses and reviewing surveillance video. No arrests were made.
