New Jersey to New York-Bound PATH Platform Open

Commuters who ride PATH trains from Harrison's station into New York have to line up in a new spot.

They'll have to turn left onto the platform's east end beginning at 11 a.m. Wednesday. That's because the area to the right will close for construction on the end of the station.

The work is all part of a $256 million project to replace the nearly 80-year-old station.

Platforms will be extended to accommodate longer trains, stairs will be widened, there will be escalator access to the platforms and entrances will be enclosed in glass.
