Judge Allows Jury in DJ Creato, Dad Charged With Killing New Jersey 3-Year-Old, Murder Case to Visit Crime Scene

A judge heard motions Wednesday in the murder trial of a New Jersey father accused of killing his 3-year-old son because the boy allegedly was an impediment to the dad's relationship with a teenage girlfriend.

Among the issues decided in a Camden County courtroom was that the judge didn't object to jurors viewing the scene where Brendan Creato's body was found near the Cooper River.

David (DJ) Creato's trial initially was due to start last October. But it was postponed again in January when Creato's attorney sought more time to get a report from another expert witness. The motions hearing was set for Monday but pushed back to Wednesday, the prosecutor's office said.

Camden County prosecutors said Creato's son suffered "homicidal violence."

The 23-year-old Haddon Township man allegedly killed Brendan in October 2015 and then reported him missing.

Creato has pleaded not guilty to murder and child endangerment charges. He remains jailed on $750,000 bail.
