Police said a couple found dead after a fire in Paterson last year may have been victims of a homicide.
Twenty-four-year-old Jaclyn Pruyn and 45-year-old Eddie Nelson Diaz were found in the home they shared after a fire in November.
A dog also died in the blaze.
Police Capt. Heriberto Rodriguez said the two people died of "unnatural causes." He would not tell The Record whether they were killed before the fire or by the blaze.
The Nov. 23 fire also damaged a neighboring home and displaced at least seven people.
