New Jersey Beaches Get Ready for Summer

It's never to early for a beach.

As the days get longer and the temperatures rise, beaches are beginning to get ready for the warm months to come.

In Wildwood, NJ, the convention center will host the 3rd annual NJ Clean Communities Environmental Student Exchange on Tuesday, March 22 at 9 to 11:30 a.m.

This event usually attracts about 400 students from surrounding middle and high schools. Congressman Frank LoBiondo and other public officials have been known to make appearances as well.

Atlantic City also seems to be prepping for the warmer months.  The beloved Lucy the Elephant is having her tail opened in order for officials to take care of any structural damage before summer.

Finally Belmar, N.J. is getting ready for the summer by taking away a rule that seemed a bit outdated: an ordinance that prohibited people from being able to build sandcastles on the beach unless they got written permission from the town council has been overturned. The new ordinance just requires builders to level the sand before leaving the area.
