Neshaminy Teachers to Return to Work

The union president says teachers will return to work on Friday.

Striking teachers in a suburban Philadelphia school district say they'll return to work at the end of the week.

Neshaminy School District teachers will go back to work on Friday, January, 19 because it will enable them to complete the school year on June 15 as scheduled, according to the union.

Although, union officials say, there is always the potential to strike again.

Teachers began striking Jan. 9 in hopes of forcing a contract deal after working without raises since 2008. District officials say they can't afford even half of the teachers' demands without raising taxes, spending reserves and cutting student programs.

Negotiations have been suspended since the start of the strike.
