Dozens of Cars Spray-Painted in Mayfair

Somebody spray painted cars along three blocks in the Mayfair section of Philadelphia overnight

It was an ugly morning wake-up call in Mayfair.

Neighbors along three blocks of Knorr Street found their cars spray-painted by vandals and glue on the windows. At least one owner had just purchased a brand new car.

"Came out this morning, my brother woke me up and he said there's spray paint all over the hood your car," John Kelly said. "I thought he was joking around, then I came out and saw all this - it's a brand new car."

Vandals went down Knorr Street, vandalizing at least two dozen cars in the 3100, 3200 and 3300 block.

Some neighbors say they woke up to calls and text messages that their cars had been vandalized.

""I was astonished, amazed and pissed off," Colleen Caputo told NBC10. "Now people have to go and spend a couple hundred dollars to clean up what these cowards did to our cars."

A few of the vehicles had racial slurs painted on them.

Neighbors spent most of the morning cleaning the paint off their cars.

Police in Northeast Philly are investigating.
