Brendan Canavan says he watched a murder unfold when one doctor allegedly ambushed another in his Voorhees neighborhood on Wednesday morning.
"And I heard two pops. And they weren't like bangs, they were loud pops," Canavan told NBC10's Terry Ruggles.
Canavan says he was on his computer when he heard those first shots shortly after 7 a.m. He says he rushed to the window and saw one man in a car and another man standing next to the car.
"And I heard the last two pops. . .I could see the shadow of someone dropping over into the passenger seat."
The victim was his neighbor, Dr. Payman Houshmandpour. Police say the shooter was another doctor, Giocondo Navek, who was waiting to ambush Housmandpour when he got into his car to head to work.
As the shooter sped off, Canavan got the license plate number on the car and called police. Minutes later, Voorhees police stopped Novek's car. When they approached him, Navek shot himself, police say.
Dr. Houshmandpour, 32, and Dr. Navek, 39, worked together at Virtua hospital in Voorhees, according to Jason Laughlin with the Camden County Prosecutor's office. Novek left the hospital about two years ago, Laughlin said.

The mother of Navek's longtime girlfriend told The Associated Press that Navek blamed Dr. Houshmandpour for what she says was his dismissal from the program at Virtua. The hospital hasn't commented on the reason Navek was no longer with Virtua.
Forogh Mozaffari says her daughter recently broke up with Navek.
Houshmandpour was married with a young child.
