Police Release Fire Victim's Name

Authorities in western Pennsylvania have released the name of one of two people killed in separate Pittsburgh-area fires over the weekend.

The Allegheny County medical examiner's office says 59-year-old John Liese was pronounced dead shortly before 8:30 p.m. Friday at a Shaler Township residence. Fire were sent to the home just before 6 p.m. Friday and later found the body of the victim.

Authorities haven't released the name of another person found dead after a blaze reported just after 12:30 a.m. Saturday at the Casa Blanco apartments in Moon Township. Police said the victim was found where the fire originated in the living room of the apartment, which was heavily damaged.

County fire investigators are trying to determine the causes of both fires.
