Officials in the city of Scranton say a New York man whose body was found in woods near a public housing complex last week was shot to death.
Scranton police opened a homicide investigation after an autopsy Sunday on the body of 24-year-old Michael Jackson of Yonkers, N.Y. Chief Dan Duffy told The (Scranton) Times-Tribune that Jackson had “loose ties to the city” and is believed to have stayed at the nearby Hilltop Manor apartments for a time.
Officials say they do not know whether Jackson was shot in the city or in the wooded area where his body was found Thursday. No arrests have been made in the case.
