A southern New Jersey woman has been charged with fraud for allegedly stealing nearly $10,000 from a local competitive cheerleading squad.
Police in Audubon tell The Philadelphia Inquirer Susan Loberto met a man through an online dating site who said he was on a construction project in Africa and needed money.
Loberto was treasurer of the Oaklyn Cats Cheerleading Club. She allegedly cashed six checks totaling $9,400 from the club's account and wired the money to the man in Ghana.
Police say they haven't determined the man's identity.
The cheerleading club's members are middle-school students from Oaklyn, Audubon and Mount Ephraim.
It was not clear if Loberto had retained an attorney.
