NJ Woman Rescued After Sending Facebook Message

A woman who was allegedly forced into prostitution was rescued after she managed to send her brother a facebook message

Authorities say a New Jersey woman allegedly forced into prostitution by a stranger who bailed her out of jail was rescued after she sent a message to her brother in Florida via Facebook.

Hackensack police tell The Record that 29-year-old Trenace McCarroll faces numerous charges, including criminal restraint and promoting prostitution.

Police say the 30-year-old south Jersey woman wrote in the message that she was being held against her will. Her brother called authorities in south Jersey, who notified Hackensack police.

Officers then went to an apartment where they believed she was being held and found McCarroll's girlfriend there, along with illegal drugs.

They then contacted McCarroll, who said the drugs were his. He then came to police headquarters with the victim, unaware that authorities were looking for her.
