NJ Substitute Teacher Arrested for Allegedly Fondling 10-Year-Old Girl

A 58-year-old substitute teacher was arrested in New Jersey after he allegedly fondled a 10-year-old girl.

Police arrested Pedro Rodriguez on Tuesday following an investigation by the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit.

Authorities allege two other students saw him fondle the girl at William B. Cruise Memorial School No. 11 in Passaic.

Rodriguez was working as a substitute teacher at the time of the alleged abuse.

He has been charged with sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child and faces up to 15 years in prison if convicted.

His bail was set at $100,000. He was scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday.

It wasn’t immediately known if he had an attorney.
