NJ Man Smuggles Coke Inside Shoes: Police

A New Jersey man is in police custody after allegedly smuggling cocaine inside his shoes.

On Monday, around 7:20 p.m., Massachusetts State Police troopers arrested Carlos Lanns, 24, of Hamilton after he arrived at Logan International Airport in Boston.

After a joint investigation with US Customs and Border Protection, investigators say troopers and customs officers recovered over two kilograms of cocaine hidden within the insoles of four pairs of shoes inside Lanns’ checked luggage.

Lanns is charged with Trafficking a Class B substance. His bail was set at $25,000 and he was scheduled for arraignment in East Boston District Court late Tuesday morning.
