New Jersey Democrats are taking the gay marriage fight to the Republican community where the Senate minority leader lives.
Democratic leaders are planning a Tuesday afternoon news conference in Westfield. They want to put pressure on moderate Republicans to join them to override Gov. Chris Christie's gay marriage veto.
Democrats haven't been able to override any of Christie's vetoes, which would require Republican votes. Some Republicans support gay marriage, but won't cross the governor on an attempted override.
Senate President Steve Sweeney has promised that an override vote would be scheduled but hasn't said when.
