NJ Gas Prices Take Another Sharp Jump

Gasoline up 7 cents from a week ago in the Garden state

Motorists are again seeing sharply higher prices at the pumps in New Jersey.

AAA Mid-Atlantic says the average price of regular gasoline in the Garden State on Friday was $2.85, up 7 cents from a week ago.

That's also higher than a year ago, when New Jersey motorists were paying $2.52.

Meanwhile, the national average price remained at $2.88 for the second straight week. But that's still higher than the national average from a year ago, which was $2.64.

AAA Mid-Atlantic says the rising pump prices continued despite falling crude oil prices, which hit 2010 highs of just under $88 a barrel last week but have retreated about 7 percent over the past week.
