NJ Dentist Investigated After 2nd Kid Dies in Care

Two children have died in a NJ dentist's chair, authorities say

A New Jersey dentist on probation for an earlier incident in which a patient died is under investigation after a second child has died in his care during a routine procedure.

The Star-Ledger of Newark reports that a 3-year-old boy died during a Feb. 8 visit to Dental Health Associates in Irvington.

Dentist Patrick Bamgboye was still on probation for a 2004 incident in which a 6-year-old girl died in his care.

An attorney for Dental Health Associates tells the newspaper that Bamgboye is cooperating with authorities and it's too early in the investigation to assert blame.

The mother of the 3-year-old tells the newspaper that her son was restrained in a cocoon-like papoose to have cavities filled and was given a local anesthetic.

State authorities are investigating.
