NJ Daughter Admits to Causing Mother's Death

Lisa Marie Foster could face up to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to manslaughter in the death of her 67-year-old mother

The daughter of a New Jersey woman has admitted to causing her mother's death.

The Ocean County Prosecutor's Office said Friday that Lisa Marie Foster pleaded guilty this week to manslaughter in the death of her 67-year-old mother, Claudette Foster.

Authorities determined that Claudette Foster died after being struck in the head by a blunt object, but said she also suffered from heart disease.

The Asbury Park Press reports that authorities say Lisa Foster often argued with her mother about money while living at the woman's Lakewood home. Foster admitted to pushing her mother during an argument in February 2012, causing her to fall and hit her head on a metal bed frame.

She could face up to 10 years in prison at her Feb. 28 sentencing.
