A mudslide from Saturday's torrential rains shut down the eastbound side of the Drivers on the Schuylkill Expressway, leaving scores of people stuck in a huge traffic jam for hours.
The eastbound lanes of the expressway between Girard and Montgomery Avenues were closed from about 9:30 p.m. until nearly two in the morning.
Traffic was diverted off the highway until cleanup crews could clear the mud off the interstate. Normal flow of traffic was restored on the road Sunday.
