Firefighter rescued from burning Mount Ephraim home

A firefighter became trapped inside a South Jersey home while battling a blaze and had to be rescued by his colleagues, authorities said.

The fire broke out in the Center Avenue duplex home that appears to be under renovation in Mount Ephraim around 5:30 a.m. Monday.

The firefighter was briefly trapped inside the home before he was brought to safety, the Mount Ephraim Fire Department said. He didn't appear to be seriously injured but was being evaluated as a precaution.

The firefighter's name hasn't been disclosed. No other injuries were reported in the blaze.
