Boyfriend Charged in Mt. Airy Mom's Murder

The 27-year-old woman leaves behind two young children.

The boyfriend of an East Mt. Airy woman was charged with her murder.

Donald Newsome, 32, was arrested on Tuesday.

He's accused of stabbing Rosalyn (Rose) Daniels to death and setting her house on fire to cover up the crimes, according to police.

Daniels' body was found dead with multiple stab wounds and burns after firefighters put out the fire at her home early Monday morning on Cliveden Street.

Daniels, 27, and Newsome were dating, family members told NBC Philadelphia.

"I can't even talk about it because she was so good to me," said friend Bernetta Sutton.

Daniels leaves behind two young children, a 6-year-old boy and 2-year-old girl, who were in Florida with their grandmother at the time of the blaze, according to authorities.

Newsome is charged with Murder, Arson, Causing/Risking a Catastrophe, Possessing An Instrument of Crime, Recklessly Endangering Another Person and other related offenses.
